Text Message Notifications iOS

Jason SpencerJason Spencer Member Posts: 15 ✭✭✭

When my phone is locked (or not in the Dialpad app) I am not receiving notifications of a text message sent to my Main Line. I have to open the app and change to the main line to see it.

My personal number notifications are fine. After some trial and error, I'm even getting phone calls to both main line and personal via HD Calling. Am I missing a setting to trigger notifications for main line texts? I am the admin and assigned operator for all dept and main lines.

Side question: Does this work the same with Dept lines as it does with Main?

Hey @Jason Spencer We don't send push notifications for Main Line or Dept. texts on your mobile at this time, so that's why you're not seeing that come up like your personal calls.

I know our team is currently looking into changing this feature, so I'll let you know if any changes go live soon.

Would it be possible to be added to this list? I didn't realize until missing a couple of important messages while my phone was locked that there would be no notifications. :(

Is this a feature that will be added soon? It is critical to our business that iOS users receive push notifications on shared lines.
  • Need this feature as well.

I thought I'd check back in and see if this has changed. My main line is advertised as a number that clients can send SMS to (and soon a Dept. will also). I'd love to start getting these on my iOS devices as regular notices.

my partner on iOS is severely hampered not receiving any notifications for SMS to main office line. Works just fine on my Android. I mean it's a huge dealio. Please advise.

Checking in on this issue as well.

This is a blocking issue that prevents our organization from using Dialpad in a serious capacity. Please consider implementing this. Android devices already support push notifications for main lines and department lines, so it shouldn't be that difficult to do the same on iOS.

This is a hugely important feature!

I don't know this for sure, but if I had to guess it's probably about the cost of push notifications?

What can we do to both bump this challenge and help bring a solution? This is a _must_ have

Bump. Please please add this for iOS. We run a car rental business and recently had customers trying to contact us on our department number. We did not get notified about this and things did not go well that day. It's not practical to always be checking the app for text messages. We need to respond when customers reach out.

Thank you for listening Dialpad. This is our top feature request at this time.

I would like to see this too. It would be nice to hear from @DialpadHQ to confirm if this on the roadmap or if there is some reason it is not being implemented.

Any update? We really need to receive text notifications as well!

WOW! I cannot believe this has been an issue since 2017. I thought I was the only one having the issues until I asked the support team. We've lost many clients because we didn't see their text messages on our mainline. @DialpadHQ @Dialpad Admin Please let us know if this in the works, otherwise I need to move to another service.

@DialpadHQ @Dialpad Admin Please follow up. I missed a major piece of information related to a project yesterday when a customer texted my landline. Cost me real $$$ to fix. This is costing your users business.

Given that @DialpadHQ only has 468 posts and my original question was from almost 3 years ago, I doubt they even monitor this anymore.

For the record, I don't recall marking that initial reply as an Accepted Answer. If I did, I accepted it at the time but only because I thought it was on a short term roadmap to get it done.

I'm just about ready to move to Google Voice by G Suite because of this one issue.

@Jason Spencer Be careful with Google Voice by G Suite. It is very immature and missing a lot of features you would expect. I have been evaluating it since launch and it is lacking too many features and evolving too slow to consider for myself or my clients (I sell voice services).
